Northwest Extreme Sprint Car Series Back Into Point Action Saturday

By Ben Deatherage, Banks, Oregon- The Northwest’s newest Sprint Car group will return into action to the Sunset Speedway Park on Saturday July 28th.  The Banks bullring had the group on hand for the Thursday July 19th event alongside the ASCS-National Tour as the support class but was a non-point race.  It will mark the fifth point race of the group’s inaugural season.

The NESCS has yet to witness a repeat winner in 2012 with four different winners this year.  Ricky Ashley, Ariel Biggs, Sammy Wright, and Ryan Bothwell have captured victories on the small ¼ mile oval while Jeff Westergard earned the win earlier this month in non-point action.

The Sunset Speedway Park is located just west of the Portland metro area in Banks on the Sunset Highway.  The venue is located in a gorgeous small town setting with rolling hills in the background and hosts weekly competition with Northwest Extreme Sprint Car Series, Northwest Wingless Tour, USRA Modifieds, Street Stocks, 4-Bees, Pure Stocks, Womens, and Tracers classes.  To stay up to date with the latest information regarding this wonderful facility log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com or feel free to call 541-598-6643.
